The New Thing Nurse PPE Care Package Project
Please Read for Important Update: The New Thing Nurse PPE Care Package Project ended as of 6/1/2021. The incredible support from this project has made an impact on the lives of hundreds (if not thousands) of individuals and their facilities across the United States and Mexico. It has been an honor to facilitate this project, and New Thing Nurse thanks each of you!!
Organized to get respirator masks, surgical masks, eye protection, and other PPE, a team of volunteers and donors have collected funds and donated PPE to make this project a success. All proceeds of this effort went to finding, purchasing, and shipping PPE. The NTN PPE Care Package Project sent over 7,800+ PPE items to 240+ individuals and organizations in 37 states and Mexico.
The last campaign was a commitment to send 100 elastomeric respirator masks (ERM) + P100 filters to 100 licensed healthcare providers in need of sustainable respiratory protection as they care for patients with COVID-19.
With the help of partners Kristen Cline of the Trauma Informed Nurse and the support from Chelsey Rodgers of Tribe RN, Sadao Nakachi of Nurse Scholar, Mark Crafts of Team Crafty, and so many individual donors, New Thing Nurse sent out the 200th EHR/P100 filter package!!

New Thing Nurse has been able to coordinate the following donations with PPE donor partners:
600 face shields donated by Cal Tech in collaboration with Masks for Docs in California
110 face shields donated by Make4Covid.co in Colorado
200 face shields donated by Bay Area Face Shield Supply in Arizona, California & South Carolina
8 face shields donated by the Dallas 3D Printers Club in Texas

2/2021: The Emergency Nurses Association featured the PPE Care Package Project in the January issue of ENA’s Connection. Issues are being delivered to all 60,000+ members across the country throughout January and February. Thank you ENA for sharing our story!
1/30/2021: A total of 150+ nurse made surgical caps were delivered to the incredible staff at the Alta Bates Medical Center Emergency Department in Oakland!! This was made in 2 drop offs, 1 in the fall & 1 at the end of January. Thank you to @yeahanne for being our amazing liaison & delivery volunteer! We hope that the staff feels appreciated & supported as they continue to work to serve our community!!! #thankyou

7/2020 - Global Response Management runs a volunteer clinic in Matamoros, TX that provides the only point of medical access for nearly 3,000 asylum seekers at the Texas-Mexico border and are a recipient of PPE from the NTN PPE Care Package Project.
